Nightingale's Rainbow: could you sponsor this NHS tribute?

Nightingale’s Rainbow is the UK’s first monument to provide a lasting tribute to the COVID-19 response.

The giant rainbow, 5.5 metres tall and 8.3 metres wide, has been unveiled on the site of Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, and has been built to recognise and remember the resilience and kindness of our NHS and local communities over the past 20 months.

As well as being a permanent monument to the COVID-19 crisis, the structure is also the focal point for a fundraising campaign to support Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity and Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust’s Charitable Fund.

Local businesses are being offered the opportunity to be part of this fantastic project through a number of sponsorship packages, and this week a new Gold Sponsorship package has been announced to coincide with the completion of the project.

Already supported by Buckinghamshire Council, there are a total of 37 Gold Sponsorship packages available, each offering a distinct ‘Slice of the Rainbow’ (approx. 200 tiles) on the west-facing side of the rainbow.

Gold Sponsors will be:

  • given a framed architect’s print with their segment highlighted
  • included on the tribute website with their tile dedications added to the virtual Nightingale’s Rainbow at www.nightingalesrainbow.org.uk
  • mentioned in social media posts
  • given access to a Gold Sponsor logo

“This a great project for Buckinghamshire’s businesses to engage with to show their support for the community and to help raise funds for healthcare in Buckinghamshire,” says Emma Carroll, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. “Opportunities to be part of a new Buckinghamshire, and national, landmark are rare, and we have been delighted by the response to the Gold Sponsorship package, with several organisations already signed up.”

If you would like to find out more about the Gold, Silver and Bronze Sponsorship packages available, please contact Emma Carroll at [email protected] for more information.

The proceeds from the sale of Rainbow Tiles will be shared between Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity and the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund.
