Royal seal of approval given to BBF members for export success

Two BBF members were successful at the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the greatest accolade bestowed on a UK business.

Two BBF members were successful at the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the greatest accolade bestowed on a UK business. Highly prestigious and extremely competitive, the award recipients were announced on the 21st April, Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday.

This year MediPlus Ltd and W Durston Ltd, both of High Wycombe, were recognised in the International Trade category, after both enjoyed stellar periods of success.
MediPlus is a family owned business formed in 1986 to develop innovative, patient centred medical devices of the highest quality, with the highest levels of service. The company has achieved year on year export sales growth for the last six years, a 105% increase in total. Successful markets in the USA, France and Germany, among others, represent a large portion of their turnover, thanks in part to their own patented new product.

W Durston specialise in manufacturing rolling mills which are used by jewellers to roll down gold and silver for making jewellery. During the entry period for the awards their export sales rose by 53%. With markets around the world, including the USA, Australia and Chile, and with five new markets tapped into this year, the globally known Durston brand is going from strength to strength.

The two BBF members were among 152 businesses nationwide to be rewarded for their endeavours, and all can now look forward to a royal reception at Buckingham Palace.  The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are one of the most internationally-renowned awards that a UK business can win. They recognise the hard work that both companies have been putting in, like so many others in Buckinghamshire, to create jobs and contribute hugely to the local economy.

Our congratulations!
