Train staff at ‘Focus On’ workshops

Providing training for staff is essential for any business with growth ambitions. It can be hard to identify training opportunities that are suitable for your needs, which is why we run our ‘Focus On’ workshop series.

These workshops are delivered by members of Buckinghamshire Business First who have a great deal of knowledge to share. Topics typically covered include sales, marketing, productivity, social media, business planning, and many more. Here’s a list of our upcoming ‘Focus On’ workshops:

Give more to get more back

Partner and Ambassador members receive 4 complimentary tickets for their teams to attend every one of our ‘Focus On’ events. These workshops are a great training opportunity for staff at no extra cost to those at Partner or Ambassador level.

Business growth requires investment, and what better investment can you make than in your staff?

You may wonder what the benefit of attending a Business Leaders’ Dinner is. Well…

“The Business Leaders’ Dinners are now a diary priority for me”

Helen Pethybridge of ActionCOACH discovered what can happen at one of these events: “It was at a Business Leaders’ Dinner that I met with a representative of Barclays and he invited me to a seminar that they were running. It was at this seminar that I met a fellow business owner who I invited to one of my own workshops, and, long story short, I ended up doing business with him and his business partners! Taking on this one client gave me a quick return on my investment in Buckinghamshire Business First.

“The Business Leaders’ Dinners are now a diary priority for me. You meet people two or three times at these events, which allows you to build a rapport and trust, which can lead to further business or referrals.”

£3m contract facilitated at a Business Leaders’ Dinner

Bid writer and coach, Dr Holger Garden, met a fellow Buckinghamshire Business First member at a Buckinghamshire Business Leaders’ Dinner and was soon writing an important bid for them that led to Holger’s new client being awarded a £3m contract – the company’s largest-ever assignment.

“It was at the Business Leaders’ Dinner at Stoke Park when my new client-to-be overheard me talking in the catering queue about what I do,” reveals Holger. “We started chatting and quickly realised that what I do – writing, presenting and coaching for success - and what they needed were perfectly aligned. This is what you get with Buckinghamshire Business First; a business community that can and does work together.”

Whether it’s overhearing a conversation while queuing for food or being sat next to a stranger who turns out to offer exactly what you need, making a useful connection is something to be expected when you are surrounded by dozens of the brightest and most enquiring business minds in the Entrepreneurial Heart of Britain.

Local entrepreneurs forge partnership at Business Leaders’ Dinner

Two successful entrepreneurs who met at the inaugural Business Leaders’ Dinner in 2014 experienced the kind of ‘we can work together’ moment found at the very best networking events.

Gary Swanwick of Epoq IT and Tony Laurenson of Global Infusion Group (GIG) ended up doing business together with Epoq becoming GIG’s new IT provider.

It was no surprise to Gary that he made such a great business connection at a series of events he sums up as having “quality venues and delegates. The Business Leaders’ Dinners are one of the best networking events locally by far. The people you meet at Buckinghamshire Business First’s networking events are fantastic and really keen to share their knowledge and experience.”

“A great way to make new business connections”

Graham Macey, Director of Form Workplace Solutions, attended a recent Dinner and was delighted with how it went: “We had a very enjoyable evening at the Business Leaders’ Dinner at Danesfield House. As well as being a great venue with great food, we met some very interesting people to connect with. Thanks to Buckinghamshire Business First for running this event, it was a great way to make new business connections, and as an added bonus we also met some really great local charities too. We look forward to attending more Business Leaders’ Dinners!”
