What if you can’t afford to take on an apprentice?

For those that would like to recruit an apprentice but can’t afford the costs involved, an Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) will hire an apprentice for you, place them with you and take care of payroll and tax.

The South East Apprenticeship Company (SEAC) operates as the ATA for Buckinghamshire, offering a unique approach to the recruitment of apprentices. They provide a service to both companies and apprentices, registering young people looking for an apprenticeship vacancy and matching their talents and skills to apprenticeship opportunities in businesses across Buckinghamshire and the wider South East region.

They provide a low cost way for businesses to take on an apprentice, employing the apprentice themselves and placing them with a company.

The South East Apprenticeship Company:

  • Employs the apprentice on your behalf
  • Introduces you to an apprenticeship delivery partner
  • Takes care of payroll, tax and national insurance
  • Screens and interviews potential candidates
  • Provides you with ongoing advice and support
  • Deals with all HR matters

This allows businesses to concentrate on their day-to-day work whilst up-skilling their workforce at the same time.

The South East Apprenticeship Company is an approved Apprenticeship Training Agency endorsed by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and included on their National Register of approved ATAs and is a member of the Confederation of Apprenticeship Training Agencies (COATA).

Remember to check whether or not you can claim the AGE 16 to 24 employer grant for apprenticeships. You could receive £1,500 per apprentice (up to a maximum of five apprentices).
