Which high street is the best in Buckinghamshire?

Nominate your favourite local high street for the Great British High Street Awards. Which do you think is the best – and why?

Our towns would not be what they are without our high streets, so it’s time to celebrate and recognise the best of them, first during the Great British High Street Week commencing July 16th, and then with the Great British High Street Awards, entries for which close on August 22nd.

Winners will be named in each of the four UK nations, with two categories up for grabs:

  • Champion High Street - for the UK’s best high streets
  • Rising Star – for the most ambitious high streets that are working hard to regenerate and diversify

An overall High Street of the Year will also be crowned.

Winning high streets will get up to £10,000 to spend in their community.

Great British High Street Week

Make sure you visit your local high street to show your support during the Great British High Street Week, taking place the week commencing July 16th.

And if you’d like to spread your wings a little, why not have a look around at some new high streets you may not have visited?

The Visit Buckinghamshire & The Chilterns website has a great ‘Market Towns’ section, featuring local attractions and businesses, and information on what local market towns have to offer visitors.

Midsomer Marlow Trail

One delight among our local towns is Marlow’s new Midsomer Trail that goes through Marlow and the village of Hambleden. Covering 17 miles, you will very quickly find yourself immersed in scenes from Midsomer Murders!

A vast number of locations in Buckinghamshire have been used in Midsomer Murders episodes. This self-guided tour will not only let you walk in the footsteps of Inspector Barnaby himself, but will give you a real taste for what Buckinghamshire has to offer.
