Employment Rights Act Power Hour - July 2026

Employment Rights Act Power Hour - July 2026

The Employment Rights Act 2025 is here - with more to come - but there really is nothing to fear. Although the changes will impact all employers, and it's wise to be prepared, a few basic steps will help you avoid hot water.

In this interactive workshop for businesses in Buckinghamshire, we'll:

  • Take a pragmatic look at the new employer obligations within the ERA 2025
  • Review how the new requirements fit alongside existing law
  • Consider what simple, practical actions employers can take
  • Answer questions to help demystify employment legislation

What will be covered?

  • Core employee rights
  • Employers have rights too!
  • ERA 2025 - the story so far
  • Time off work - holiday, sickness and family leave
  • Fair dismissal within the first 6 months - and afterwards
  • Duty to prevent sexual harassment
  • Working with trade unions

Who is this event aimed at?

This Skills Power Hour is aimed at business owners and senior managers who may be concerned about how to manage employment-related risks in a pragmatic way.

This session is led by John Browning, Workforce Skills Manager at Buckinghamshire Business First, who has 20 years’ experience advising businesses on training and development issues. He will be supported by Tara Hopkins, a HR local professional (and BBF member) with more than 20 years of experience of applying employment law within organisations, and who's also Co-Chair of the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
