A great chance for you to inspire local students

It's National Volunteers’ Week (June 1st – 7th) – and at Buckinghamshire Skills Hub, we are asking businesses to volunteer for a really worthwhile project we’re working on!

By Buckinghamshire Skills Hub

Throughout June and July, we are delivering presentations to Sixth Form students across the county…

  • one highlighting the amazing work opportunities in Buckinghamshire, particularly in the Space, Construction, Health and Social Care, and Creatives industries
  • and another to help students set up their LinkedIn profile as preparation for entering the world of work

We are looking for employers, particularly SMEs, who would be willing to give up to an hour of their time to join the team in a local school to share their experience.

This could be about how you have used LinkedIn to best effect or a brief talk about working in (or with) one of the sectors mentioned above.

Schools need businesses to help inspire their students

We think this is a great opportunity for businesses in Buckinghamshire to link with young people who are thinking about their future careers - and if you haven’t been in a school since you left one, you will find it to be a very different place!

And there's another way you can support young people...

Looking ahead, if having volunteered as part of this project, you like what you see and are inspired to help young people longer term, we are always keen to talk with employers who would be willing to become a volunteer Enterprise Adviser, as part of the Careers and Enterprise Company.
