To be a Trustee: Trustees’ Week (12th–16th November)

A message from Community Impact Bucks about the upcoming Trustees’ Week:

With over 1 million Trustees in the UK, Trustees’ Week is a national celebration of the valuable work they carry out throughout Buckinghamshire. Community Impact Bucks are not only joining in the celebrations, we are encouraging business people to step forward and volunteer in a Trustee capacity.

Trusteeship is a unique form of volunteering. It’s not only a valuable way of contributing to your local community, it can also be a rewarding experience for individuals, helping them to broaden their interests and develop their leadership skills.

Trustees come from all walks of life; it doesn’t matter about your background. You might be looking for some managerial experience to propel your career, or to expand a certain skill set, or simply to give your time to a cause you are passionate about – no matter how old or young you are.

Trustee roles offer a great deal of flexibility around your existing commitments. Community Impact Bucks have partnered with Reach Volunteering, the national organisation that connects charities and not-for-profits with skilled and experienced volunteers, to bring you a live stream of the latest Trustee roles in Buckinghamshire.

Don’t just take our word for it, hear from:

Community housing projects get £500,000 boost

Community housing projects and charities are being urged to put their case forward as Nationwide makes £500,000 available to help make a difference to communities.

Applications are sought for grants of up to £50,000 that have the potential to strengthen communities by supporting the most vulnerable with housing needs. Projects could range from finding new approaches to increasing the supply of housing or by reinventing renting for both tenants and landlords. Applications will be accepted from across the central region, which includes Buckinghamshire’s four districts.

So far Nationwide has awarded £1.25 million in grants to 43 projects in other parts of the UK.

Applications are open until 5pm on Friday 7th December.

Heart of England Community Foundation are administering this fund for the central region, including Buckinghamshire. For more information, visit their website.
