Small business rates relief is available to businesses that occupy:
- one property (with a rateable value of under £18,000), or
- one main property and other additional properties that each have a rateable value below £2,600 (total rateable value must be under £18,000).
Where the single or main property has a rateable value of up to £12,000, the ratepayer will receive a percentage reduction in their rates bill for this property up to a maximum of 100 per cent for a property with a rateable value of not more than £6,000. This 100 per cent reduction applies for a temporary period to 31 March 2015, after which it is likely to revert to 50 per cent.
