Speaker - Derek Redmond
Having been a motivational speaker for 17 years, Derek regularly shares his story to inspire a wide demographic of people and through his mantra of “sport is a business, business is a sport”, Derek brings his background values and principles to the corporate world. Derek pushes himself to achieve success through positivity and hard work; feeling laziness and lack of ownership hinders the achieving of goals.
Derek Redmond enjoyed a long and successful athletics career during the 1980s and 1990s which saw him break the British 400m record twice and famously pull up with an injury in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, but still complete the race. He was a prominent member of the British 4 x 400m relay squad that won gold at the 1991 World Championships, the 1986 European Championships and the Commonwealth Games of the same year.
