Bucks Business Awards 2022 sponsors - spotlight on Stoke Park

It's less than one week until the Buckinghamshire Business Awards Ceremony 2022 - back at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury for the first in-person Awards Ceremony since 2019.

In the build-up to the ceremony on September 28th, we are shining a light on each of our valued Awards Sponsors, without whom these awards would not be possible.

Putting our Awards Sponsors in the spotlight

Here, we focus on the sponsors of the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure Business of the Year Award, Stoke Park, the award-winning hotel and golf club in Stoke Poges.

We spoke with Nick Downie, Head of Communications at Stoke Park, for his thoughts on sponsoring the Buckinghamshire Business Awards.

What does it mean to Stoke Park to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2022?

"It is a huge honour for us to be involved with this year’s awards. We have been involved with the awards for many years, having been fortunate to have won various awards over the years.

"It means a lot to us, despite the business being currently closed for a huge refurbishment, to be able to sponsor and to celebrate the wonderful businesses in Buckinghamshire.

"I have always been incredibly impressed over the years with how the awards are structured and organised - they are awards which are done how awards should be done, and it is has been a privilege to have been a part of the process this year."

After such a tough time for businesses in recent years, including of course those in tourism, hospitality and leisure, how important do you think it is to recognise businesses and their achievements right now?

"It is so important. Many businesses, especially those within the tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors, have been hit very hard by the Covid pandemic and there has never been a more important time to recognise and celebrate all these businesses who have worked tirelessly and shown great innovation to get through this time.

"Business is the beating heart of our economy and we need to support and show our appreciation for all these incredible businesses we have within Buckinghamshire."

Stoke Park is a former winner of the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure Business of the Year Award, winning in 2015. Can you describe the boost that winning this award, or an award in general, has on a business?

"We are very fortunate to have won awards over many years and every time you win, or are recognised as a finalist, it gives your business and your team a huge sense of pride and achievement, which itself gives a fabulous boost.

"Being recognised by winning an award is also incredibly important, particularly from a PR perspective, as it gives your guests and customers an assurance that, as in our case, our hotel is definitely worth visiting.

"Also, as a proud Buckinghamshire business, it’s very special to be recognised by your peers on home soil."
