Next up in our Sponsor in the Spotlight series, we speak to Richardsons Chartered Accountants, sponsors of the Growth Business of the Year Award.

What does it mean to Richardsons to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2023?

"It’s really great to be involved with the judging for the Growth Business of the Year Award for a fourth year in a row. You can see a business’s journey and how they have developed over the years. Watching a business take on an idea and then that idea becoming reality is very inspiring."

You have been the sponsors of the Growth Business of the Year Award since 2019. Why does it mean so much to you to sponsor this award in particular?

"At Richardsons, we really believe in growth and success, seeing this first hand is fantastic. It is important to celebrate businesses that have adapted and continue to grow. There is so much talent and potential in Buckinghamshire and being involved with Buckinghamshire Business First clearly demonstrates that there are plenty of like-minded businesses."

What impressed you most about last year’s winner and finalists?

"The winners in 2022, Origin, stood out as they had invested in their growth plan a few years ago and the business has really flourished as a result of their implemented strategy.

"All of the finalists had demonstrated that they had planned their growth strategy well, had active discussions with their team about the growth plan and made sure that everyone was involved in the process.

"When all members of staff are working towards the same goals, it’s amazing what can be achieved."

Last year’s final shortlist was made up of businesses from very different sectors (door/window manufacturer, recruitment, food producer). Do you think this shows that growth is possible for businesses across all sectors?

"Absolutely! Growth can be attained in almost every industry with innovation, a good business plan, and a fantastic team.

"We can’t wait to be involved again this year and get to meet more successful Buckinghamshire businesses."
