Bucks Business Awards 2022 sponsors - spotlight on Buckinghamshire Council

We’re looking forward to being back at the Waterside Theatre, Aylesbury, for the first in-person Buckinghamshire Business Awards Ceremony since 2019.

In the build-up to the ceremony in September, we are shining a light on each of our valued Awards Sponsors, without whom these awards would not be possible.

Putting our Awards Sponsors in the spotlight

This week, it's the sponsors of the Apprentice and Young Person Employer of the Year Award, Buckinghamshire Council.

Cllr Anita Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services at Buckinghamshire Council, told us all about it.

What does it mean to Buckinghamshire Council to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2022?

“The Buckinghamshire Business Awards are a wonderful opportunity for us to be a part of recognising the achievements of businesses within the county.

“They celebrate innovation, leadership and hard work, and demonstrate the positive impact businesses make to the economy. Buckinghamshire Council are once again proud to be involved in the awards.”

After such a tough time for businesses in recent years, how important do you think it is to recognise businesses and their achievements?

“Following a challenging few years, the awards provide a chance to celebrate excellence. They come after what will have been the most difficult trading conditions that many of these businesses will have known.

“Given the operational challenges brought on by the pandemic, businesses around Buckinghamshire have demonstrated immense resilience and need to be commended for being able to adapt and innovate under the circumstances.

“We are pleased to have been able to work with some thriving businesses and hear wonderful success stories. Their agility and flexibility has allowed them to innovate and embrace new opportunities.”

What do you love about being the sponsor of the Apprentice and Young Person Employer of the Year Award in particular?

“As a council, we place a lot of emphasis on supporting young people at the start of their working lives. We know that our businesses do too.

“The awards give us an opportunity to learn more about the commitment that businesses in Buckinghamshire have to developing their workforce.

“We know that the quality of submissions has traditionally been high and are delighted to be sponsoring this category again.

“We look forward to being a part of sharing the stories of how investment in young people has helped enhance what businesses do.”
