Small Charity Week brings with it great opportunities

Small Charity Week runs from 13-18th June celebrating and raising awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector which makes an invaluable contribution to the lives of millions of individuals.

The objectives of Small Charity Week are to:

  • Celebrate the contribution that small charities make to communities throughout the UK and across the world
  • Improve the knowledge, representation and sustainability of small charities
  • Highlight the work of the small charity sector to the broadest possible audience
  • Encourage public giving
  • Work with the small charity sector to develop political engagement at a national and local level.

Each day of Small Charity Week has one specific focus, with plenty happening on each day:

  • 13 June: I ♥ Small Charities Day – a day devoted to raising awareness of small charities everywhere.
  • 14 June: Big Advice Day – A day of free expert 1:1 support across the country.
  • 15 June: Charity Sector Policy Day – This is a chance for small charities to engage with policy makers and influencers at local events. Email [email protected] to sign up to the Small Charity Week mailing list and be kept up to date on events near to you.
  • 16 June: Fundraising Day – This is the perfect opportunity for small charities to engage with current and new supporters to get fundraising, with plenty of free events, initiatives and resources for your charity to engage with.
  • 17 June: Volunteering Day – Here you can upload volunteering opportunities you currently have available and learn about ‘speed matching’ and networking events to help you find volunteers.
  • 18 June: Celebration Day - Small Charity Week closes on the 18th of June with a day to celebrate small charities everywhere, offering thanks to small charities for all the effort they put in to make the world a better place. You can plan your own celebration day event with this free toolkit.

If you have any events running between 13-18th June you can promote them on the Small Charity Week website.

Small Charity Week is brought to you by the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), who with the support of partner organisations ensure the work of small charities is recognised and celebrated.
