Your latest Visit Buckinghamshire round-up

Lucy Dowson, Tourism Development Manager, Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns rounds up the latest opportunities in the local tourism sector.

Help boost Buckinghamshire’s food & drink sector

Our neighbours at the Chilterns Tourism Network and Chilterns Conservation Board are again applying to the Chilterns LEADER Programme to continue the development of the food and drink sector across the region, and extending it potentially to include arts and crafts. They are planning a three-year Chilterns Food, Drink & Crafts campaign and are asking for support from local businesses to secure the £18,000 of match-funding they require to qualify for LEADER funding. They have designed Sponsorship Packages that we hope you will find complement your existing marketing activity.

They achieved so much with the four-month Defra Taste of the Chilterns project, so it is exciting to think what a three-year project could do to create a big and sustained impact.

For more information on this exciting project, please contact Annette at the Chilterns Conservation Board on 01844 355500 or email aweiss@chilternsaonb.org.

Are you Buckinghamshire’s Best Meeting, Conference and Events Venue?

Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns is delighted to once again sponsor a category at the prestigious Buckinghamshire Business Awards. In 2018, to support an ever increasing industry sector, a brand new award has been created: Best Buckinghamshire Meeting, Conference and Events Venue.

As a judge of this award, I can say that it not only reinforces just how important the tourism industry is to the economy of Buckinghamshire, it also allows us to reward our brand ambassadors, the ones who are flying the flag for tourism in the county.

There are 12 categories in all. The deadline for entering is January 31st, so head over to the awards website to find out more and register your interest in entering.
