The government is helping businesses to access strategic advice by match funding up to £2,000 towards the cost of this and helping them find a supplier from an online marketplace. The programme has recently been extended to include start-ups and firms with few employees.

Eligible businesses can apply for a voucher to put towards the cost of strategic advice in one of the following areas:

• Raising finance and managing cash flow
• Recruiting and developing your staff
• Improving leadership and management skills
• Marketing, attracting and keeping customers
• Making the most of digital technology
