Boosting productivity of tourism and hospitality businesses

We are partnering with Visit Buckinghamshire and Be the Business on a support programme for tourism and hospitality businesses that includes masterclasses led by sector specialists.

Masterclass programme to support tourism and hospitality businesses

Buckinghamshire Business First has partnered with Visit Buckinghamshire and Be the Business on a support programme for tourism and hospitality businesses that will help to boost Buckinghamshire’s productivity.

Hospitality and tourism businesses are hugely important to the Buckinghamshire economy, and this support programme, which will deliver a series of five masterclass events running up to the 2020 summer season, will help those who participate to drive up productivity and maximise their full potential.

The masterclasses, the first of which takes place on January 23rd 2020 at Waddesdon Manor, are part of Be the Business’s Collaborative Networks for Tourism and Hospitality programme, which aims to bring business owners, leaders and senior managers together to improve business performance through joint learning, sharing and collaborating.

The masterclasses will be led by tourism and hospitality sector specialists and feature the experiences of local and national leading brands. There will also be a number of peer-to-peer business coaching groups, specifically for likeminded tourism and hospitality business leaders looking to learn, share and collaborate together.

Tony Danker, CEO at Be the Business, said: “We are so excited to launch this partnership with Visit Buckinghamshire and Buckinghamshire Business First. We welcome all local tourism and hospitality businesses to get involved in the Be the Business movement to drive up UK productivity and competitiveness.

“Our programmes are designed to give every person attending new ideas to boost their business, and by formalising our partnership with Visit Buckinghamshire and Buckinghamshire Business First, we intend to support the great work already being done by every tourism and hospitality business in the region.”

Lucy Dowson, on behalf of Visit Buckinghamshire and Buckinghamshire Business First, said: “We are delighted to work in partnership with Be the Business on this exciting new tourism and hospitality initiative, a first for the county, which will deliver a series of events led by industry experts.

“The tourism sector is a major player in the Buckinghamshire economy, with approximately 2,300 businesses employing 23,000 people. More than £729 million is spent locally each year as a result of 10 million day trips and 1.1m overnight stays in the county. That said, we can always do more, and we would encourage tourism and hospitality businesses across the county to get involved as this is a fantastic opportunity to improve business performance through joint learning, sharing and collaborating.”
